Presenter in front of an audience

I am honored to be a meeting host of this webinar, which will introduce an important climate technology to Evanston and its leaders.

The Evanston City Council approved the Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) in December 2018, which calls for carbon neutrality by 2050. In April 2022, the Evanston City Council passed a resolution declaring a climate emergency. A key opportunity is beneficial electrification of building systems, in large part, by using heat pumps to displace natural gas heating.

This webinar will discuss how the City of Ithaca, New York and BlocPower are collaborating to electrify heating systems in buildings throughout that city. In doing so, they have created a novel opportunity to positively impact greenhouse gas emissions, resident health, and homeowner finances. The development process incorporates community engagement, climate justice, and workforce development.

The one-hour webinar will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Register here.
